Regent’s Park photos from Marylebone Town Hall

March 09, 2026

If you're planning a ceremony at Old Marylebone Town Hall and want a broader guide to the building, the ceremony rooms, and how weddings there usually work, I’ve written a full guide here: Old Marylebone Town Hall wedding photographer.

One of the questions couples often ask after booking their ceremony at Old Marylebone Town Hall is this:

"Can we do our couple photos in Regent's Park?"

The short answer is yes. But whether it works on your wedding day depends on timing.

How far is Regent’s Park from Marylebone Town Hall?

Regent’s Park is very close to Marylebone Town Hall. In practice it’s about a 12-13 minute walk from the steps outside the building to the southern edge of the park.

But the important thing to remember is that you have to walk there and back.

So realistically you're looking at:

  • 12-13 minutes walking to the park

  • time for photos

  • 12-13 minutes walking back

That means you normally need around 45 minutes minimum in the schedule if you want to include Regent’s Park portraits.

How long I normally need for couple portraits

For most weddings, I only need about 15 minutes for a couple portrait session.

That’s enough time to step away from guests, walk somewhere nearby, and create a relaxed set of photos together before the reception begins.

But Regent’s Park is a slightly different option.

Couples who choose it are usually doing so because they want more time together on the day, away from the crowd, just the two of them (and me).

For those couples, the walk itself becomes part of the experience.

The quickest option: Queen Mary’s Rose Gardens

If time is tight, I usually head to the Queen Mary’s Rose Gardens at the south side of Regent’s Park.

It’s the closest part of the park to Marylebone Town Hall and works well when we don’t have a huge amount of time.

You still get the greenery, the paths, and some beautiful backgrounds, but without having to walk too deep into the park.

If you want to explore the park properly

If you’re happy to allow a bit more time, Regent’s Park opens up a lot more possibilities.

We can wander further into the park, find quieter paths, and take advantage of the scale of the place.

For couples who enjoy walking together, this can be one of the nicest parts of the day. It’s a chance to pause for a bit before heading back to the reception and seeing everyone again.

Planning it into your wedding timeline

If Regent’s Park portraits are something you’d love, the key thing is simply allowing enough time in the schedule.

A good rule of thumb is:

  • 45 minutes minimum for the round trip and photos

  • Longer if you want to explore more of the park

If your reception venue is already somewhere in that direction, it can work especially well.

And if time ends up being tight on the day, there are still plenty of great portrait spots right around Marylebone Town Hall itself.
