Chelsea Old Town Hall wedding photographer London
Chelsea Old Town Hall on the King’s Road is one of London’s best known registry office wedding venues. I’ve photographed dozens of weddings here over the years and know the building, the staff, and the rhythm of the day very well. It’s a busy venue with multiple ceremonies happening throughout the day, so experience really counts.
I’m highly experienced in photographing weddings in all of the ceremony suites at Chelsea Old Town Hall - the Brydon Room, the Harrington Room and the Rossetti Room. Each space has a very different feel and requires a slightly different approach.
The Brydon Room is the largest of the ceremony rooms and works well for bigger guest lists. It has more space to move, clearer sightlines, and a more formal layout, which allows me to photograph the ceremony from a range of angles without being intrusive. The Harrington Room is more intimate, with a tighter layout and guests closer to the couple. Here, discretion and positioning are key, and knowing exactly where to stand makes all the difference. The Rossetti Room sits somewhere in between, with its own light and layout challenges that I’m very familiar with after photographing many ceremonies there.
Because I know these rooms so well, I’m able to focus on what matters rather than figuring things out on the fly - capturing reactions, small moments, and the feel of the ceremony as it unfolds, without staging or interruption.
Outside, most weddings spill straight onto the steps on King’s Road for confetti, group photos, and a few minutes with friends and family. It’s a busy pavement, so this part needs to be handled efficiently. I’m very used to organising this quickly and calmly so you’re not standing around or feeling rushed.
