Camden Town Hall is one of the most characterful places to get married in London. It’s bold, civic, slightly theatrical, and full of texture - from the stone exterior to the grand interiors that feel properly ceremonial without tipping into stuffiness. I’ve photographed many weddings here over the years and know how the day tends to flow, which makes a real difference when everything is running to a tight timetable.
Inside the Town Hall, the light is usually softer than you’d expect for a municipal building, which works beautifully for natural, documentary-style photography. I focus on what’s actually happening rather than staging anything awkward or over-produced - reactions, movement, small moments between people. Group photos and confetti are usually quick and efficient here, and I’m used to organising them calmly so everyone can get on with celebrating.
One of the big advantages of a Camden Town Hall wedding is how many great photo locations are within easy walking distance. If you want some epic grandeur, then Kings Cross and St Pancras Station is literally across the road. It's stunning, both the exterior and inside, on the station concourse and in front of St Pancras Bar & Brasserie. It’s ideal if you like editorial wedding photography.
For something greener and more relaxed, Camley Street Natural Park is a real hidden gem. It’s quiet, leafy, and feels miles away from central London, even though it’s right there. Bloomsbury is another great option, especially if you’re drawn to classic London streets, terraces, and smaller garden squares like Brunswick Gardens.
The Brunswick Centre offers a more brutalist, urban backdrop, which works especially well for couples who want something a bit different. The concrete, symmetry and open space photograph beautifully and give your images a grittier urban feel.
