OLD Marylebone Town Hall wedding photographer

Every London wedding photographer loves Old Marylebone Town Hall in central London, and I’ve photographed dozens of weddings in the grand elegant venue. Over the years I’ve worked in all of the ceremony rooms here, including the Soho Room, Knightsbridge Room, Marylebone Room, Westminster Room, Paddington Room, Pimlico Room and Mayfair Room. Each space needs a slightly different approach because of the differences in size, layout and vantage points, but having photographed weddings in every room many times, I know them all inside out.

Some rooms are light and spacious, others more intimate. The Westminster Room is grand and impressive, but it needs careful positioning to balance the scale of the room with the people in it., and to deal with the unavoidable back lighting Smaller rooms like the Soho or Pimlico Rooms call for a more discreet way of working. I know where the best angles are, how the light behaves at different times of day, and how to move during the ceremony without being a distraction.

Marylebone Town Hall is also one of the busiest register offices in London, with multiple weddings happening at the same time. Because of that, the staff expect wedding photographers to organise things quickly and efficiently, especially the confetti moment and group photos outside. This is where experience really counts. I know exactly where everyone needs to stand, how to keep things moving, and how to get what’s needed in a short window without it feeling rushed or stressful.

Just behind the town hall are some lovely cobbled mews, which are perfect for quick, relaxed portraits if time allows. Regent’s Park is also nearby, although there often isn’t time to get there on the day. When there is, it’s a great option for something greener and calmer.
