@thesnappergram - wedding photographer london micro blog
Even though there are dozens of wedding galleries across my website, below I’ve embedded my Instagram feed, which I use as an occasional wedding photography micro blog. I post micro blogs about my experiences as a London wedding photographer, and share highlight photos from weddings. Follow me on Instagram at @thesnappergram.
Can we take wedding photos in Regent’s Park after a ceremony at Old Marylebone Town Hall?
Yes - but timing matters.
Regent’s Park is about a 12-13 minute walk from Marylebone Town Hall. That means a round trip plus photos usually needs around 45 minutes in your wedding timeline.
For most weddings I only need about 15 minutes for couple portraits. But Regent’s Park is perfect for couples who want a bit more time together on the day - just the two of you (and me) away from guests.
If time is tight, we can head to Queen Mary’s Rose Gardens on the south side of the park, which is the closest section to the town hall.
If you allow more time, we can wander further into the park and use more of the space and greenery.
Either way, it’s a lovely way to pause for a moment together before heading back to your reception.

I call it getting ready rather than bridal preparations – because it’s for everyone. Same-sex weddings, couples who both want photos… this part of the day is for all of you.
It’s full of excitement, nerves, laughter, and little moments that make your day unique. Sometimes that includes traditional touches, like a parent or close family member seeing you for the first time – those reactions are always special to capture.
I can cover both partners getting ready, even if you’re in separate rooms nearby. And don’t worry about mess – I’ve never seen a perfectly tidy space in the morning, and it doesn’t matter one bit.
Getting ready isn’t just a preamble – it’s the start of your wedding story.

“We’re really camera shy. The idea of posing makes us cringe.”
Honestly, I get it. I became a photographer partly because I’ve always preferred being behind the camera rather than in front of it.
So here’s how I approach it.
I assume you’ll feel at least a bit awkward about couple portraits. Most people do. Most of us are self-conscious about something. That’s normal.
I’m not there to judge how you look. I’m not a stylist. I’m not going to ask you to stand on your tiptoes, suck anything in, or “fix” something about yourself. And I don’t reshape bodies or change appearances in Photoshop.
My job isn’t to turn you into a different version of yourselves. It’s to photograph you well - using good light, simple direction, and giving you something natural to do so you’re not just standing there wondering where to put your hands.
If there’s something you’re particularly sensitive about, you can always tell me. I’ll handle it discreetly. But I won’t assume.
You don’t need to perform. You don’t need to become “photogenic”. You just need to show up as you are.
That’s enough.

The Foundling Museum (@foundlingmuseumevents) in Bloomsbury is one of my favourite London wedding venues to photograph, because of its grandeur and light, but also because it’s a charity.
It’s unique London museum that is tucked away in leafy Bloomsbury, telling the story of the UK’s first children’s charity and public art gallery.
It’s grand and elegant - but still intimate. Guests don’t get lost in the space.
It’s right opposite Brunswick Square Gardens, which is perfect for relaxed couple portraits. You feel far from the chaos of London, even though everything is just minutes away.
And beyond the aesthetics, it’s a charitable venue. All income from weddings supports the museum’s work with care-experienced people and those who care for them.
That genuinely matters to me - especially as I divert £25 from every wedding booking to charity myself.
A beautiful space, with real purpose behind it.

I sometimes get asked if I use a second shooter at weddings.
Short answer - no.
And it’s mainly about consistency, quality, and keeping the atmosphere calm.
Every photo you see on my website was taken by me. When you book me, you’re getting the same eye, the same timing, the same way of seeing light and moments throughout the whole day. No variations in style. No “this bit feels different”.
Two photographers can mean more coverage in theory. In reality, it can mean crossed wires, duplicated moments, or guests feeling like they’re being documented from multiple angles all afternoon.
My approach is low-key and observational. I like to blend in. One photographer keeps things relaxed and unobtrusive - which is usually exactly what a wedding needs.
If you’re planning something huge with multiple locations at the same time, we can talk. But for most weddings, one experienced photographer is more than enough.

You can usually tell if a wedding photographer is right for you in about 2 minutes. Here are some tips:
- Don’t go by their Insta feed, look at their website, as that’s where you’ll really get their vibe, and hopefully get lots if helpful information.
- Start with their portfolio. Not just a highlights reel or their homepage ‘hero shots’, because even a half decent photographer can dazzle you with a ‘best of…’.
- Look at least one full gallery of a wedding they’ve photographed from start to finish. If their website doesn’t show any full wedding galleries, ask them to send you a link to a full wedding. If they say they can’t, I’d say that’s a real red flag.
- Check what’s included. Hours, delivery time, what you receive. Clear and simple info is a good sign. If there info on this is a little opaque, and their website says they’ll send you pricing and packages info by email, I personally think that’s a red flag. You shouldn’t have to hand over your email address to just get at least an indication of pricing.
- Read a few reviews. If they don’t have Google Reviews or TrustPilot or something, I’d be wary of reviews they’ve just put on their own website. While I’m sure most are honest and are posting genuine reviews, how can you really know they’re not made up?!
All of this takes a few minutes. You don’t have to look at this stuff exactingly. Just skim their website for the above, and if all this looks good, then get in touch, and then you can decide, ‘in’ or ‘out’.

Riverside weddings with character and light — London Rowing Club (@londonrowingclubevents) and Thames Rowing Club (@thamesrcevents) on Putney Embankment are two of my favourite London venues for natural, relaxed wedding photography. Both sit right on the Thames with gorgeous views from balconies and light-filled spaces that make every moment feel cinematic.
Whether you love classic Victorian architecture and timeless interiors at London Rowing Club or the open, airy Great Hall and sweeping river connections at Thames Rowing Club, there’s so much beauty in how these venues work for real wedding days and real couples.
From candid ceremony moments to golden-hour portraits on the riverbank, these spots let the Thames be your backdrop and the city’s energy become part of your story.

Wedding at Chelsea Old Town Hall (@chelseaoldtownhall)
Chelsea Old Town Hall on King’s Road is one of London’s most iconic registry office venues - and a place I know inside out.
From the ceremony rooms to the confetti on the steps, I understand how the day flows and how to keep it relaxed, efficient and natural. Add in Royal Avenue, Chelsea Fire Station and the streets around Sloane Square, and you’ve got everything you need within a short walk.
No awkward posing. No cringey aftershave-ad vibes. Just honest, documentary coverage that fits the day.

Wedding at Hackney Town Hall (@hackneyvenues)
Hackney Town Hall is one of the most recognisable wedding venues in East London, and it’s somewhere I’ve photographed dozens of times over the years.
I know the building inside out - not just the architecture, but how it actually works on a real wedding day. How ceremonies flow, how quickly things move, and how to work with the lovely staff so no one else’s wedding is disrupted.
That familiarity means I can work calmly and efficiently, without getting in the way or slowing things down.
Each ceremony space at Hackney Town Hall needs a different approach. The North and South Atriums are all about height, symmetry and strong architectural lines, which suit wider frames and layered compositions. The Assembly Room has a more formal feel that lends itself to classic ceremony images. The Committee Rooms are smaller and more intimate, so the work there is quiet and discreet.
The biggest advantage of experience here is anticipation. Knowing where to stand, when to move, when not to move, and how the light behaves throughout the day in different parts of the building.
Nothing is rushed or over-directed. Just an honest record of a wedding at Hackney Town Hall, exactly as it felt on the day.

Lambeth Town Hall (@lambethtownhall) weddings and Brixton are always special for me. I live literally a minute’s walk away and I’ve been in Brixton for 20 years, which I never tire of. So, it’s always a pleasure to photograph weddings here.
Lambeth Town Hall is so grand, esp the exterior and its incredible, modern atrium.
One of the best things about getting married here is what’s on your doorstep. Quiet green spaces like Brockwell Park, Rush Common and Windmill Gardens are all nearby, and if you’re more into an urban feel there’s Electric Avenue, Brixton Village, Market Row, Coldharbour Lane, the Ritzy, the Bovril building, Pop Brixton and the railway arches.
I keep portraits relaxed and efficient, using places that already have character rather than dragging couples too far from their guests.
I also offer a 10% discount for local Lambeth and Brixton weddings.
Full Lambeth Town Hall galleries are up on website.

Photographing weddings at Old Marylebone Town Hall (@adaytorememberdotlondon) is always a favourite of mine. I know each of the rooms really well, including the Westminster Room, which is beautiful but stays dark even on bright days and often backlights couples during the ceremony. Having photographed dozens of weddings here, I know how to handle the light and keep things natural and relaxed.
Outside, there’s no shortage of great spots. The front steps and pillars are perfect for classic portraits, the cobbled mews just behind the building are great for something more relaxed, and when time allows we can head to Regent’s Park for a change of scene.
If you’re getting married at Marylebone Town Hall and want a photographer who knows the building inside out, get in touch.

Islington Town Hall ( (@sayidoislington) is the place I’ve photographed more weddings than anywhere else.
Well over 100 at this point.
And I still love shooting there.
Great staff. A proper buzz in the building. And one of the most photogenic town halls in London.
I know every room, all the good spots for photos, and exactly how the light works on a busy wedding day.
Step outside and you’ve got Upper Street, Camden Passage, Highbury Fields, Regent’s Canal, Screen on the Green, and plenty of grand back streets within a few minutes’ walk.
If you’re getting married at Islington Town Hall, I’d love to hear from you.

Wedding at Queen’s House, Greenwich (@rmgvenues)
I loved shooting at Queen’s House. Such a grand and elegant building - a 17th century former royal residence with huge, calm, light-filled rooms and a real sense of history in the walls. It is the kind of place that instantly lifts a wedding day and gives everything a cinematic feel.
This shoot was a collaboration with the brilliant team there. It is licensed for ceremonies, can host up to 120 guests, and has beautiful outdoor spaces too, so everything can flow easily from one part of the day to the next.
If you are planning a 2026 summer or autumn wedding and are looking for a venue that feels elegant, timeless and relaxed all at once, Queen’s House still has dates available. And if you want your day photographed in a natural, unposed, documentary way that lets a place like this really shine, I would love to hear from you.

…
A simple guide to wedding photography timelines (tl;dr: I won’t turn your wedding into a photoshoot).
One of the biggest worries couples have is spending the whole day being pulled away for photos. In reality, that’s not how I work.
Apart from two short bits - group photos (around 15 minutes) and a relaxed couple portrait session (another 15 minutes) - the rest of the day is photographed in a quiet, observational way.
No staging. No constant direction. No military-style timeline.
I fit in around what’s already happening: the nerves in the morning, the ceremony as it unfolds, the hugs, the drinks, the speeches, the dancing. Real moments, as they happen.
A good rule of thumb is around eight hours of coverage to capture all the main beats, while still letting the day breathe.
If you want photos that feel natural and editorial, and a timeline that protects your experience rather than taking it over, that’s exactly how I work.

Wedding at Marylebone Town Hall (@adaytorememberdotlondon)
I take photos of weddings. Mostly when people aren’t looking.

Like most wedding photographers, I put wedding galleries on my website.
Not just a handful of hero shots - full galleries. Every image the couple received.
So that other couples who are looking for a wedding photographer can see the overall quality of my images across a day, not just some highlight 'hero' shots.
But if a couple asks me not to share their photos, I don’t. No public gallery. No blog posts. No Instagram posts. No sneaky “just one”. Their gallery stays password protected and private.
Because it’s not content. It’s your wedding.
Your day. Your photos. Your rules.

Wedding at Pembroke Lodge in Richmond Park (@pembroke_lodge)
...
When you book a wedding photographer, you’re trusting them with moments that can’t be repeated. So how your photos are looked after matters just as much as how they look.
At every wedding, I bring three camera bodies (this has never happened, but it could). If one camera were to fail, I’m not relying on a single backup - I can switch instantly and keep shooting.
Each camera has dual card slots, so every photo is saved to two cards at the same time. If one card were to corrupt (this has never happened, but it could), there’s already a full copy.
Before I leave the venue, I remove the backup cards and keep them in a separate card wallet in my breast pocket. Even if my camera bag were lost or stolen (this has never happened, but it could), your images are still safe.
When I get home, no matter how late, your photos are backed up to multiple hard drives and a secure cloud server. Houses burn down (this has never happened, but it could).
It’s all deliberately boring, behind-the-scenes stuff you never see. But it’s part of taking your wedding photos seriously.

A winter wedding at the wonderful @100barrington in Brixton.
Warm, loud, full of laughs and really good energy from start to finish.
I love days like this. No posing, no staging, just people being themselves and actually enjoying being together. I’m there quietly in the background, letting things unfold and catching the moments as they happen.
This is what my work is about - relaxed, documentary wedding photography that lets your day feel like your day.
I’ve lived in Brixton for many years, and I still love it, so it’s always a pleasure to shoot local weddings. Which is why I offer a 10% local discount.
