@thesnappergram - wedding photographer london micro blog
Even though there are dozens of wedding galleries across my website, below I’ve embedded my Instagram feed, which I use as an occasional wedding photography micro blog. I post micro blogs about my experiences as a London wedding photographer, and share highlight photos from weddings.
Photographing weddings at Old Marylebone Town Hall (@adaytorememberdotlondon) is always a favourite of mine. I know each of the rooms really well, including the Westminster Room, which is beautiful but stays dark even on bright days and often backlights couples during the ceremony. Having photographed dozens of weddings here, I know how to handle the light and keep things natural and relaxed.
Outside, there’s no shortage of great spots. The front steps and pillars are perfect for classic portraits, the cobbled mews just behind the building are great for something more relaxed, and when time allows we can head to Regent’s Park for a change of scene.
If you’re getting married at Marylebone Town Hall and want a photographer who knows the building inside out, get in touch.

Islington Town Hall ( (@sayidoislington) is the place I’ve photographed more weddings than anywhere else.
Well over 100 at this point.
And I still love shooting there.
Great staff. A proper buzz in the building. And one of the most photogenic town halls in London.
I know every room, all the good spots for photos, and exactly how the light works on a busy wedding day.
Step outside and you’ve got Upper Street, Camden Passage, Highbury Fields, Regent’s Canal, Screen on the Green, and plenty of grand back streets within a few minutes’ walk.
If you’re getting married at Islington Town Hall, I’d love to hear from you.

Wedding at Queen’s House, Greenwich (@rmgvenues)
I loved shooting at Queen’s House. Such a grand and elegant building - a 17th century former royal residence with huge, calm, light-filled rooms and a real sense of history in the walls. It is the kind of place that instantly lifts a wedding day and gives everything a cinematic feel.
This shoot was a collaboration with the brilliant team there. It is licensed for ceremonies, can host up to 120 guests, and has beautiful outdoor spaces too, so everything can flow easily from one part of the day to the next.
If you are planning a 2026 summer or autumn wedding and are looking for a venue that feels elegant, timeless and relaxed all at once, Queen’s House still has dates available. And if you want your day photographed in a natural, unposed, documentary way that lets a place like this really shine, I would love to hear from you.

…
A simple guide to wedding photography timelines (tl;dr: I won’t turn your wedding into a photoshoot).
One of the biggest worries couples have is spending the whole day being pulled away for photos. In reality, that’s not how I work.
Apart from two short bits - group photos (around 15 minutes) and a relaxed couple portrait session (another 15 minutes) - the rest of the day is photographed in a quiet, observational way.
No staging. No constant direction. No military-style timeline.
I fit in around what’s already happening: the nerves in the morning, the ceremony as it unfolds, the hugs, the drinks, the speeches, the dancing. Real moments, as they happen.
A good rule of thumb is around eight hours of coverage to capture all the main beats, while still letting the day breathe.
If you want photos that feel natural and editorial, and a timeline that protects your experience rather than taking it over, that’s exactly how I work.

Like most wedding photographers, I put wedding galleries on my website.
Not just a handful of hero shots - full galleries. Every image the couple received.
So that other couples who are looking for a wedding photographer can see the overall quality of my images across a day, not just some highlight 'hero' shots.
But if a couple asks me not to share their photos, I don’t. No public gallery. No blog posts. No Instagram posts. No sneaky “just one”. Their gallery stays password protected and private.
Because it’s not content. It’s your wedding.
Your day. Your photos. Your rules.

Wedding at Pembroke Lodge in Richmond Park (@pembroke_lodge)
...
When you book a wedding photographer, you’re trusting them with moments that can’t be repeated. So how your photos are looked after matters just as much as how they look.
At every wedding, I bring three camera bodies (this has never happened, but it could). If one camera were to fail, I’m not relying on a single backup - I can switch instantly and keep shooting.
Each camera has dual card slots, so every photo is saved to two cards at the same time. If one card were to corrupt (this has never happened, but it could), there’s already a full copy.
Before I leave the venue, I remove the backup cards and keep them in a separate card wallet in my breast pocket. Even if my camera bag were lost or stolen (this has never happened, but it could), your images are still safe.
When I get home, no matter how late, your photos are backed up to multiple hard drives and a secure cloud server. Houses burn down (this has never happened, but it could).
It’s all deliberately boring, behind-the-scenes stuff you never see. But it’s part of taking your wedding photos seriously.

A winter wedding at the wonderful @100barrington in Brixton.
Warm, loud, full of laughs and really good energy from start to finish.
I love days like this. No posing, no staging, just people being themselves and actually enjoying being together. I’m there quietly in the background, letting things unfold and catching the moments as they happen.
This is what my work is about - relaxed, documentary wedding photography that lets your day feel like your day.
I’ve lived in Brixton for many years, and I still love it, so it’s always a pleasure to shoot local weddings. Which is why I offer a 10% local discount.

Why does wedding photography cost so much?
Yes, there’s more to it than the hours on the day. There’s planning, editing, experience, and the boring but necessary business costs.
But what I don’t buy is how inflated prices have become just because it’s a wedding.
A lot of photographers charge £2-3k because the market allows it. High price doesn’t automatically mean better photos or a better experience.
I charge less than half the “industry standard”.
Not because I’m half as good.
But because I think much of the wedding industry is overpriced.
When you break my work down properly, my rate comes out at roughly £300 per working day once shooting, post-production, admin time etc are included.
You still get calm, experienced, documentary wedding photography.
You’re just not paying for inflated margins.
Full, transparent pricing is on my website.
Seasonal nod first: Happy Xmas (War Is Over) by the Plastic Ono Band. Greatest Christmas song ever.
I’ve always loved the cover of the Plastic Ono Band’s first album. John and Yoko under a tree. A simple and authentic image.
I shot this photo (not the one of John and Yoko, the second one) at a wedding at the wonderful @foundlingmuseumevents, during a couple portrait shoot in Brunswick Square Gardens. The diffuse autumn light and grand oak trees instantly reminded me of the album cover, so I showed the couple a picture of it, and asked if they'd be up for recreating it.
Sometimes one good image you’ve lived with for years quietly shapes how you see things.

If you’ve booked me as your wedding photographer (or you’re thinking about it), here’s exactly what you can expect on the day.
I work in a calm, natural, editorial way - unposed, observant, and focused on how the day actually feels. No awkward staging, no shouting at guests, no added stress.
A quiet, grounding presence while you’re getting ready
Clear, efficient group photos done in about 15 minutes
Relaxed couple portraits in around 15 minutes too - no disappearing for an hour
Real moments, reactions and emotion you didn’t even see happen
Flash used carefully when it adds to the story (especially in the evening)
Energy on the dance floor without things feeling forced
Couples book me for the photos, but they recommend me for the experience. Calm, organised, unobtrusive, and there to make the day easier, not more complicated. There are now 200+ five-star Google reviews that say the same thing.
I’ve written a full blog breaking all of this down in more detail.

When you’re choosing a wedding photographer, reputation matters. Experience matters. And real feedback from real couples matters most of all.
Right now I have more Google Reviews than any other London wedding photographer – in fact, more than any wedding photographer in the UK. 226 reviews, and every single one is 5 stars.
That doesn’t happen by accident. It comes from showing up fully for every couple, photographing the day honestly, and being a calm, reliable presence from start to finish.
What’s interesting is that plenty of photographers charging twice my rates have half as many reviews. Numbers aren’t everything, but they do tell you something important: consistency, trust and a track record you can actually verify.
If you want to know what it’s really like to work with me, the reviews speak for themselves. Visit my website to see my reviews, and my portfolio of course (link in bio)!

Wedding at Islington Town Hall (@sayidoislington), wedding reception at the Coin Laundry Exmouth Market (@coinlaundryem)
Direct flash is everywhere right now. It looks great, it’s fun, it’s bold. But do you also want your wedding photos to feel a bit timeless too?
Trends come and go. Direct flash is having its moment the same way soft-focus sepia was huge in the 80s. Every trend feels iconic… until it suddenly doesn’t.
And honestly, no photographer can guarantee “timeless” photos. None of us knows what will age beautifully and what won’t. Plus, when photos try too hard to be timeless, they often end up feeling a bit flat.
So here’s my take: don’t go all-in on the trend, but feel free to riff on it. Let it be part of your day, not the whole story.
As a London wedding photographer, I love mixing styles – including direct flash – as long as the photos still feel like you. If you want loads of direct-flash shots, great. If you want just a hint of it, also great. It’s your day, your vibe, your photos.
