Queen's House, Greenwich - an elegant wedding venue

January 23, 2026

Wedding at Queen’s House, Greenwich (@rmgvenues)

I loved shooting a wedding at Queen’s House in Greenwich. It’s a genuinely grand and elegant venue - a 17th century former royal residence with a calm, understated atmosphere that immediately elevates a wedding day. The building is full of natural light, with large, airy rooms, high ceilings and a real sense of history that comes through in the photographs. Nothing feels overdone or flashy. It’s classic, restrained and quietly impressive.

Queen’s House is licensed for wedding ceremonies and can host up to 120 guests, making it ideal for medium to larger London weddings. One of its real strengths is how well the day can flow. The ceremony rooms, reception spaces and outdoor areas all sit together naturally, so guests aren’t being constantly moved around or rushed. That makes the whole day feel more relaxed and gives couples more time to actually enjoy it.

The surrounding grounds in Greenwich are a huge bonus. The colonnades, lawns and river views offer plenty of options for couple portraits without having to leave the venue, while still feeling varied and spacious. From a photography point of view, it’s a dream - strong architectural lines, soft window light, and space to work without interrupting the day.

If you’re planning a 2026 or 2027 wedding and are looking for a London wedding venue that feels elegant, timeless and calm, Queen’s House is well worth considering. It’s a venue that suits couples who want something beautiful and historic without it feeling stiff or formal.

If you’re looking for a London wedding photographer to document your Queen’s House wedding in a natural, unposed, documentary style, I’d love to hear from you. I focus on capturing the day as it unfolds, letting venues like this speak for themselves.
