Photographing Jess and Sam’s wedding was such a joy. They tied the knot at Hackney Town Hall, a place I shoot regularly and absolutely love for its character-filled interiors and energetic vibes. There’s something about the hustle and historic civic architecture that always makes for memorable ceremony photography — whether it’s candid laughing guests in the Council Chamber or joyful confetti exits just outside.
After the ceremony, we made our way to one of my favourite London wedding reception venues: Clapton Country Club in East London.
This is not your typical wedding space. It’s a converted tram depot in the heart of East London with exposed brick, industrial beams, rich textures, and a creative, lived-in feel that suits candid, reportage wedding photography perfectly. The vibe here blends urban grit with warm, intimate moments — it’s a venue that really lets your day unfold naturally and beautifully without feeling staged.
From the moment Jess and Sam arrived, the space just worked for storytelling. The reclaimed wood, hanging greenery, and ambient lighting created layers and depth in photos.
Jess and Sam’s guests filled the space with energy, and the industrial charm of the venue just amplified it. Dancefloor shots, late-night laughs, and the sparkle of celebration — these are the moments that make a wedding at this incredible East London venue such a treat to photograph.
