I struggle with working within what feels like a really exploitative wedding 'industry'. It's all a bit of a racket - the wedding supplier mark-ups, the awards for so-so suppliers who pay to play in the '50 best ...' awards games etc.

While I am running a business and want to make a good living, I have a background in working for charities and human rights organisations, so I try to run my business ethically and with a conscience. So, this means that I keep my prices low, with a full day of wedding photography coming in at around £1,00.

I also divert £25 of your fee to charity. More specifically (and just so you know that I'm not pocketing the cash!), you would make the donation directly. And you pay £25 less to me accordingly.

Every year this means that over £1,000 is donated to charity through my work as a London wedding photographer.

So if you do book me, these are my favourite charities. You would just need to donate £25 directly to one of them:

• The Trussell Trust, the national food bank charity.

• The Disasters Emergency Committee, a coalition of 15 UK aid charities who come together to respond to overseas crises.

• Bliss, a charity that supports babies born premature or sick.
